According to a source, Erik ten Hag has encouraged Manchester United to beat Liverpool to a top midfielder as he seeks alternatives to Sofyan Amrabat.
Ten Hag is anxious to bolster his midfield ranks with a second acquisition this summer, having recently signed Mason Mount from Chelsea for £60 million. Ten Hag holds high regard for Amrabat, who plays for Fiorentina and the Moroccan national team. The two previously worked together at FC Utrecht.
Man United appeared to have suffered a major blow in their pursuit of Amrabat on August 2 when Italian media reported that he was considering staying in Serie A. “I’m not sure if I’m leaving… maybe I can stay here at Fiorentina,” he allegedly added.
However, Fabrizio Romano moved fast to dismiss such charges. He disclosed how the remarks were fabricated since Amrabat has stated his desire to join Manchester United and has informed Fiorentina of this.
As a result, it appears that Manchester United has gained permission from the 2022 World Cup star to make a bid for him. However, if a better midfielder becomes available, they may decide to pass on this transfer.
Man United could make a move for Real Madrid player Aurelien Tchouameni, according to a massive claim from Spanish source Sport (via Sport Witness).
Bayern Munich has recently expressed interest in signing the Frenchman. It has also been speculated that Liverpool could compete with Bayern for Tchouameni, who is a big fan of Jurgen Klopp.
Man United, on the other hand, is ready to hijack both Liverpool and Bayern’s movements. After Ten Hag ‘requested’ the club to submit an offer for Tchouameni, they are ‘paying close attention’ to his position.
