How much money does Rasmus Hojlund make?
The Glaze family was in talks to sell the club this summer, which raised the likelihood of substantial changes at the helm of the Red Devils.
With the summer transfer season now open, however, there has been no big action to imply that a potential takeover will be finalized in the coming weeks.
As a result, Erik ten Hag and company will most certainly be able to target a higher caliber of players throughout the course of the summer.
This could be the case in their pursuit of their next striker, with rumors claiming the Red Devils have dropped out of the competition for Harry Kane.
Indeed, Tottenham Hotspur are expected to demand a hefty asking price in order to enable their star player to leave in the next weeks/months.
However, speculations continue to link United with a deal for Hojlund, a promising Danish striker.
The 20-year-old is thought to be earning around £10k per week at Serie A club Atalanta.
And, speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano claims the teenager has his sights set on a summer move to Old Trafford:
“However, Manchester United had contacts on the player’s side.” They value the player and are aware that, in this case, Hojlund wishes to join Manchester United.
“Rasmus Hojlund is desperate to leave Manchester United.” So this is beneficial to United. But let’s see how the conversation with Atalanta goes. Negotiating with them is always difficult, but the player is on Man United’s side.”
Who exactly is Rasmus Hojlund?
After finishing the 2022/23 season with only Wout Weghorst at their disposal, the Red Devils are in desperate need of an out-and-out attacker this summer.
However, expecting Hojlund to come in and dominate the front line for the Premier League giants could be a tall order.
After all, he is only 20 years old and has very little experience in men’s football.
Indeed, despite making a reputation for himself with Atalanta in Serie A, Hojlund has only played 32 times in one of Europe’s top five leagues (according to Transfermarkt).
And it is believed that the Serie A club has placed a high value on the young prospect’s head.
Having been described as “scary quick” by some in the media, Atalanta is reportedly looking for a deal in the region of £86 million to allow the Dane to go this summer.
When you consider Kane may cost around £100 million, you have to wonder if this represents fair value for the Red Devils.
