In the final two days of the summer transfer market, Marco Silva’s Fulham are reportedly seeking to recruit Scott McTominay from Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United.
Fulham are interested in signing Scott McTominay from Premier League rivals Manchester United, according to Sky Sports.
Fulham are attempting to sign Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay.
McTominay is allegedly being considered as a possible replacement for Portugal international midfielder Joao Palhinha.
Bayern Munich is attempting to sign Palhinha, who is interested in moving to the Allianz Arena.
Fulham are therefore hunting for prospective alternatives.
According to Sky Sports, Fulham “have made initial contact” with United “over the conditions of a potential deal” for the £60,000-a-week (Spotrac) midfielder.
According to the source, United rejected down a £30 million deal from West Ham United earlier in the transfer season.
It will be intriguing to see if McTominay is interested in a move to Fulham this late in the transfer season.
While the midfielder is unlikely to see much action at United if he remains, a transfer to Fulham would be a step down for the Scotland international.
After all, United will contend for the Premier League championship as well as the UEFA Champions League this season.
This season, Fulham are unlikely to finish in the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League positions in the Premier League table.
McTominay might wait until January 2024 to assess his situation, depending on how much he plays for the Red Devils in the coming weeks and months.
McTominay has made 146 Premier League appearances in his career.
In those games, the Scotland international midfielder has scored 12 goals and provided three assists.
