Ahead of the Premier League clash against Luton Town on Saturday, Erik ten Hag shared insights into his starting lineup for Manchester United.
Unfortunately, Aaron Wan-Bissaka will be missing from the squad due to illness, as confirmed by Ten Hag.
Wan-Bissaka, who recently returned from a hamstring injury, made his first start since recovery against Fulham on November 4 but won’t be available for the Luton match.
In Wan-Bissaka’s absence, Diogo Dalot is expected to take the right-back position, and Sergio Reguilon has been chosen to play at left-back. The central defense will feature Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof.
The exclusion of Wan-Bissaka and Jonny Evans are the only changes in the lineup.
Addressing the situation, Ten Hag stated, “Aaron is ill, so we had to change, but it is what it is and we have to do it often, but they know the principles and rules. We worked on the cooperation; that is clear, and they have to bring it on the pitch.”
When asked about the approach against Luton, Ten Hag emphasized the importance of avoiding unnecessary battles but also emphasized winning them if they occur.
He highlighted the need for good organization, teamwork, and quality ball movement to secure the three points, reiterating the consistent goal of winning every game.
