Manchester United has agreed to sell Noam Emeran to FC Groningen of the Netherlands.
Given the tight rivalry for positions at United, the 20-year-old is being permitted to depart the club in order to achieve his professional breakthrough elsewhere.
Emeran joined United as a 16-year-old in 2019, after leaving Amiens, with the club outbidding Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain for his signature.
The French kid drew attention with his youth performances and dazzled when given an opportunity in the early parts of pre-season this summer, scoring a memorable goal in the opening win over Leeds in Oslo.
He also came off the bench in the last pre-season friendly against Athletic Bilbao and scored again the next day when the U21 team overcame Chester FC.
However, with possibilities few next season and Emeran keen to make his senior debut, it has been agreed that a permanent move will be preferable for him this summer.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Emeran was the subject of numerous loan offers from clubs around Europe, but a permanent move to Groningen will provide him with the finest opportunity to improve his game and reach his full potential.
It is also believed that United have added a sell-on option in the agreement, which means they stand to profit financially from whatever additional success he has in his career.
Emeran is the latest academy product to be moved this summer, and he will leave the club having never appeared in a senior matchday squad.
