Erik ten Hag is seeking to strengthen his squad by bringing in a new midfielder and a new center-back before the transfer deadline.
After two unimpressive performances against Wolves and Tottenham in their opening two Premier League matches, Ten Hag’s side is looking for a midfielder.
Man United will only look for a new defender if Maguire, who was stripped of his captaincy earlier this summer, leaves Old Trafford for greener pastures.
Maguire was on the verge of a £30 million move to West Ham earlier this month, but the Hammers withdrew after becoming irritated with how long the England international took to decide.
However, according to the French publication L’Equipe, Nice’s Todibo is close to joining Manchester United this summer, with the Frenchman valued at roughly €40 million (£34 million).
Despite speculations that the Red Devils were interested in signing Bayern Munich’s Benjamin Pavard, Man Utd have officially signed the Nice defender instead.
Fabrizio Romano, a transfer analyst, has provided an update on the fates of Mason Greenwood, who is leaving Manchester United, and Maguire.
“Manchester United are looking for solutions for Mason Greenwood,” Romano wrote in his Caught Offside blog. Of course, they want to let him go, and their top aim is to find him work outside of England.
“The priority is on the Italian and Turkish markets, they are trying to find the best solution for the player, and they will try until the end to avoid letting him go to another club in England, though it could be an option if other deals do not work out.”
“While still with United, Harry Maguire’s future is uncertain, but it appears to be over with West Ham, who have announced Konstantinos Mavropanos.” United’s stance is clear: Maguire may leave for £30 million, but no other teams are offering that as of today.
“The situation remains open, but it is not solely due to the club, because remember that Maguire’s move to West Ham fell through due to the player, so a new solution must be agreed upon by the player.”
“Manchester United told Benjamin Pavard’s agents in the last 48 hours that they are no longer in the race and that the player can join Inter because they are not negotiating with any club for Maguire and expect him to stay.”
“Only a new bid in the final days of the window can make a difference.” For the time being, it’s quite quiet on Maguire, and it’ll be Inter for Pavard.
“Dean Henderson’s future has also been dragged out for some time.” The essential aspect is that Manchester United has always wanted a loan with a commitment to buy. Crystal Palace are presently the favorites to sign him over Nottingham Forest, but both clubs are interested. I expect him to depart United in the coming days.”
