Last season, the Gunners and the Red Devils finished second and third in the Premier League, respectively. Both clubs had a solid season, but they’ll want to go much further now.
Both Arsenal and Manchester United have had successful transfer windows thus far, and Erik ten Hag might improve on that by signing Hojlund, who wants to move to Old Trafford, according to Romano of GiveMeSport.
This summer, both Arsenal and Manchester United have been linked with a deal for Rasmus Hojlund.
Last month, 90min reported that Arsenal had spoken with Atalanta and the Danish striker’s agents about a possible move this window.
The Serie A club reportedly notified all clubs interested in his services that Hojlund will cost in the neighborhood of £55 million this summer.
Arsenal’s interest in the striker has waned recently as the club’s attention has shifted to Declan Rice. They eventually got the Englishman’s signature last week, but Manchester United are now the favorites to get Hojlund.
The fact that Hojlund is a Manchester United supporter and fantasizes about a move to Old Trafford makes the move more feasible.
“This is the priority now (for Manchester United), to try to reach an agreement with Atalanta for Hojlund,” Romano stated.
“We know the player is, as I always say, extremely mobile.” He aspires to play for Manchester United. He’s been a Manchester United supporter since he was a baby, so this is a huge opportunity for him.”
