This summer, the Red Devils have already made three additions. Mason Mount, Andre Onana, and Rasmus Hojlund have joined the club for a fee of £162 million.
More arrivals could be directly dependent on player sales, as Romano disclosed on his YouTube channel that Todibo is on United’s radar.
However, until Harry Maguire makes for the exit door, a move seems improbable. West Ham reportedly made a £20 million bid for United’s former captain.
United could make a late bid for Todibo.
Since moving to Nice from Barcelona, Todibo has evolved into a top-tier center-back.
We recently suggested that United explore him as a replacement for Maguire. The club has the same strategy in mind, but an approach is contingent on Maguire’s departure.
United’s first-choice center-backs are Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez. Victor Lindelof is regarded as the primary backup option.
The Red Devils would not want to keep Maguire while still spending money on Todibo. Before approaching the Frenchman, they must first cash in on the 30-year-old.
Todibo would be an excellent addition to the team. He is a strong ball-playing defender who enjoys making tackles and clearing his lines. He excels in competing in duels.
His main strength is unquestionably his recuperation rate. Last season, Todibo averaged eight recoveries per game. If Maguire left, he is a no-brainer signing in our opinion.
This summer, Todibo will cost at least £39 million. United will hope to recoup at least £30 million from Maguire’s sale in order to increase their interest in the 23-year-old.
