Manchester United seek a £12 million-per-season midfielder.
According to Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United are interested in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka this summer.
He thinks United have never “lost their focus” on Goretzka, who has 53 Germany caps to his name and a strong pedigree.
His reported yearly wage is currently £12 million, but Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel is said to favor other midfield options.
“Manchester United never lost sight of Leon Goretzka!” stated Plettenberg. Understandably, the 28-year-old is still on the club’s roster.
“Goretzka wanted to stay 100%, but the last ten days have clearly demonstrated that he will not be a starter under Tuchel for the time being.” Tuchel is working on a new “holding six” with Kimmich/Laimer. It’s a difficult scenario.
“Man Utd & Goretzka, a situation to watch!”
Liverpool’s £85 million double swoop
Liverpool are aiming for an £85 million double deal in which Southampton’s Romeo Lavia and Brazilian midfielder André will both join the club before the end of the transfer season.
According to Liverpool.com, the duo are both objectives within Liverpool’s reach, with talks ongoing with Southampton and Fluminense, according to multiple reports.
After the exits of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, Jurgen Klopp is in severe need of midfield reinforcements.
This means that one of the two young targets will almost certainly start at number six.
