United intends to release the results of their six-month internal inquiry into Greenwood before their game against Wolves on August 14.
Greenwood’s accusations, including attempted rape, were dismissed by the CPS in February, but he has yet to return to training with his teammates.
Since his original arrest 18 months ago, he has been suspended, with the forward not playing since the club’s 1-0 win against West Ham on January 22, 2022.
Greenwood’s contract expires in June 2025, and he was named to the club’s retained list at the end of last season.
A number of European clubs have shown interest in loaning Greenwood.
Atalanta has been mentioned as a possible destination, with Rasmus Hojlund traveling in the opposite direction to Manchester United.
Juventus, AC Milan, and Inter Milan are said to have made contact as well.
adidas, one of the club’s biggest sponsors, recently issued a statement refuting allegations that they supported his comeback to the first squad.
According to The Sun, Greenwood is desperate to return to Manchester United.
The 21-year-old has been a member of the Red Devils since he was six years old, scoring 35 goals in 129 games.
