Takvim claimed on Monday that the Istanbul club is anxious to recruit the midfielder and that their vice president, Erden Timur, is set to travel to England to meet with the Red Devils.
According to Milliyet’s Galatasaray correspondent Nevzat Dindar, the Turkish champions are interested in signing the 30-year-old for the No.8 position.
He also believes that Galatasaray will face competition for the Manchester United player from Fulham and other clubs.
Dindar claims that the Brazilian international has said yes’ to Galatasaray and that Erik ten Hag’s team is now ‘waiting’ for an offer from them to authorize his move.
According to the writer, Fred has had bids from Marco Silva’s side as well as an undisclosed Saudi Arabian club[s].
The South American’s contract expires in 2024, and Dindar claims his asking price has dropped from €20 million to €10 million… which appears to be on the cheap side. Despite this, Galatasaray is still unable to meet this demand, but conversations will continue.
Fred appeared in 56 games for Manchester United last season, scoring six goals and assisting six others.
