As rumors about his future swirl, Harry Kane claims he is only concerned with playing for England before taking the summer off.
On the final day of the season, the 29-year-old scored twice as Tottenham defeated Leeds United 4-1, giving him 30 league goals for the year. Nevertheless, despite his professional achievements, Spurs had another unimpressive season and missed out on all opportunities to play in Europe.
This summer, Kane is a target for Erik ten Hag, who is interested in bringing the England international to United. The striker is not planning on the summer’s headlines being dominated by speculation over his future.
Kane said to BT Sport that the season has been “disappointing.” “We must not allow this contest overshadow that. a lot to improve. We have occasionally had to display a battle. A team this size shouldn’t be placing eighth, so we need to take a vacation, appreciate it, and think about how we can get better.
“Speculation about leaving is a normal part of being a footballer, especially when you are performing at your best. I’ve been concentrating on this season and doing everything I can to support the squad. Just a pleasant break and a few England games will do for now.
Even though Kane’s contract only has a year left, chairman Daniel Levy has been obstinate in his refusal to compromise on Kane. At this point, United is operating under the presumption that he won’t let the forward go.
Although there is still interest in Kane, the club is looking into alternatives to avoid becoming embroiled in a transfer crisis.
