Manchester United’s Donny van de Beek, who has been on the fringes at Old Trafford, could be on the verge of a move this week, as two clubs have reportedly shown genuine interest in acquiring his services on loan.
The 26-year-old midfielder has not featured in a competitive match for the Red Devils since January. In the latter half of the 2022–23 season, he was sidelined with a knee injury and has since found himself out of favor.
It is rumored that manager Erik ten Hag has no intentions of reintegrating him into the first-team squad, prompting club officials to explore transfer possibilities.
According to football journalist Nicolo Schira, two Turkish clubs have signaled their interest in securing Van de Beek on loan. Although Schira did not specify the clubs, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce have previously been linked to the midfielder.
With the Turkish Super Lig transfer window set to close on Friday, any potential deal will need to be concluded within the coming week.
Van de Beek arrived at Manchester United in a £39 million transfer from Ajax in 2020. Since then, he has made only 60 appearances for the first team, contributing two goals and two assists. His exclusion from the squad under Ten Hag’s management has become apparent.
