He renewed his contract with Lyon through 2025 last year, although there have been speculations that he wants to leave the club already.
Bruno Cheyrou, Lyon’s sporting director, had the following to say about the excellent midfielder:
“His abilities have been highlighted by his run in the Gambardella.” He was one of the top players in the competition, but we had already identified him as a future academy player.
“He lives and breathes football, and he is one of those players who people pay to see play.” He has excellent technical skills and a fast work rate.
“He understands how to combine this work rate with decisiveness, which is commendable.” Many things will be dependent on him, but we are dedicated to him in the long run and hope to provide him with playing time with the first team.
“He is emerging from adolescence and must now transition to adulthood by improving his play and intensity even more.”
