Galatasaray are interested in signing Donny van de Beek from Manchester United.
The Turkish club reportedly sought to sign the 26-year-old Dutchman on deadline day, but their loan offer was rejected. They were prepared to spend £1 million on the player.
According to the Daily Mail, Galatasaray is still in talks to sign the player and hopes to do so before the Turkish transfer window closes on September 8th.
Since his £40 million move from Ajax three years ago, the Dutchman has endured a miserable stint at Old Trafford. In that time, he has only played 34 league games for Manchester United, and he has been plagued by injuries.
Van de Beek was highly regarded throughout Europe during his time at Ajax, and a move to the Premier League was expected to catapult him into a world-class playmaker.
His growth is definitely not going as planned, and he has yet to secure a regular starting berth at Manchester United.
He would benefit from leaving the club permanently, and he needs to play consistently to regain his form.
Regular play at Galatasaray would be great for the midfielder, but it remains to be seen if the Turkish club can complete the transfer.
If he joins Galatasaray this summer, the 26-year-old will bring goals and creativity to the midfield.
