Manchester United are busy in the transfer market, with Inter Milan’s Andre Onana anticipated to be their next signing. Erik ten Hag would prefer to sign a goalkeeper after having assumed he had secured the signing of a goalkeeper.
Manchester United is interested in signing Joao Felix.
Manchester United are considering signing Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid, according to ABC (via Metro). After a disastrous loan spell with Chelsea, the Portugal international striker returned to the footballing capital. However, with his relationship with Diego Simeone in shambles, he is almost certain to leave for good.
Manchester United will almost certainly face opposition in their pursuit of Joao Felix. Newcastle United, as well as Aston Villa from the Europa Conference League, are said to be interested.
In his day, Joao Felix is a world-class player. Unfortunately, this hasn’t been featured in recent seasons. To be fair, he wasn’t dreadful at Chelsea and was probably one of their better players, but he didn’t do nearly enough to get them out of their rut last season.
He has the ability to score or assist goals, which Erik Ten Tag would prefer. While he isn’t a true number nine, he is capable of filling that role if necessary.
Still, Felix is only an option. Since Erik ten Hag has made some solid movements for Rasmus Hojlund, we can consider Felix to be second in the hierarchy until there are signs of concrete interest in the form of discussion or bidding.
