Andre Onana has opened up about his impending move to Manchester United for the first time, calling the chance “irresistible.”
The goalkeeper, who formerly played for United manager Erik ten Hag’s Ajax, is due to depart Inter Milan in a £47 million transfer.
Onana was photographed at a Turin airport on Tuesday evening before heading to the UK for a medical and contract finalization.
“The important thing is to be honest and always tell people the truth,” he was informed by La Gazetto dello Sport.
“I am a person who is always looking for new challenges.” It’s impossible to resist playing in the Premier League for a team like Manchester United. This was something that all sides desired.
“But what matters is that I would have been equally happy if I had stayed because I never had any problems at Inter.” Indeed, a magic that is impossible to express was born in Milan.”
Onana has been charged with replacing David de Gea, who departed United last week after his contract expired.
