Fans witnessed Erik ten Hag’s players go through a rigorous training session at their Carrington training complex before greeting the young fans in attendance, posing for photos, and signing autographs.
Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored his 700th club career goal in United’s 2-1 away win against Everton on Sunday, also joined supporters and teammates for the lengthy afternoon meet & greet.
Joshy, a young supporter from Northampton, reported to the Manchester United club website that he was able to show Ronaldo his famed ‘Siuuu’ celebration:
‘I finally got to see Ronaldo!’ ‘I performed the ‘Siiuu’ celebration, and he did it with me, which made me really happy,’ he explained.
Injured club captain Harry Maguire posed in training gear as his team prepares to host Omonoia in the Europa League on Thursday.
‘We know how much these days matter to our club; it’s been evident to me since I joined the club how much we do in the community and how important that is,’ Maguire added.
It’s all about putting smiles on fans’ faces and making them happy. We’ve really missed days like these, so having fans back is fantastic.’
The captain’s fitness for his first start since Manchester United’s defeat to Real Sociedad in early September remains unknown.
