Fred confesses he needs to talk to Erik Ten Hag about his future as Manchester United considers selling him during the summer transfer window.
Fred has emerged as a target for Fulham, according to the Manchester Evening News, given his unclear future at Old Trafford.
Following their game on the final day of the Premier League season, Fulham manager Marco Silva was recorded speaking with Fred, and it is known that intermediaries have already mooted a prospective move for the 30-year-old this summer.
This season, Fred was the only outfield player to appear in every United matchday squad, but he could be allowed to leave as the club looks to bring in a younger midfielder.
The Brazilian international started in United’s FA Cup final loss to Manchester City, although his dismal performance may be his last competitive game in a United shirt.
“Of course, I always want to be playing, helping my team, and gladly today I started, and I think we played well,” he said to TNT Sports.
When asked about his transfer plans, he replied, “I still don’t know, I need to talk to my family.” My contract here is still valid for one year. It’s now vacation time, which is a great time to relax. I’ll consult with my staff and the club to see what everyone thinks.”
“I also need to speak with Ten Hag; he’s the manager, and the conversation needs to include everyone.” We’ll have to wait and see how next season pans out. I want to be significant; I want to contribute to the squad, so we’ll see. But I’ve always been and continue to be content at Manchester United.”
