Manchester United is “expected to sign PSV’s prolific attacker Cody Gakpo in 2023.”
United, Arsenal, and reigning European champions Real Madrid are all interested in the 23-year-old striker.
Last summer, the Red Devils came close to signing Gakpo before prioritizing the signing of £86 million signing Antony, therefore terminating their chase of the PSV attacker.
When asked about United’s interest, Gakpo conceded it was “a tragedy” a deal did not materialize.
According to Dean Jones, Manchester United will try again next summer and will have a better chance of getting him than their Premier League rivals. “He’s been outstanding this season for PSV and there’s no doubt that he’ll be seeking for a transfer in 2023,” he told GiveMeSport. So I still believe he’s a guy worth considering for a move to the Premier League.
“I still believe that Manchester United are more likely to sign him than Arsenal.”
Gakpo has the most goal contribution among European attackers.
This season, the Netherlands international has 13 goals and 13 assists in his 20 games in all competitions. He’s already looking like he’ll outperform his incredible figures from last season of 21 goals and 15 assists in 47 games.
