Manchester United will be missing Anthony Martial for their Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur, but Christian Eriksen is expected to return, according to Erik ten Hag.
The Dane was not named to the matchday squad for United’s 0-0 draw with Newcastle United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
As they failed to break down Eddie Howe’s troops, United severely missed the midfielder’s ingenuity.
Eriksen was battling a stomach bug, which had also struck Marcus Rashford on the day of the game.
However, while the former Ajax star will face his former club, United will be without Martial.
The Frenchman has only made one league start this season, coming off in a 2-1 win over Everton due to a back issue.
Ten Hag believes Martial will not make it, but that Eriksen will.
‘Anthony Martial is not available,’ the Dutchman confirmed.
‘We have to wait for [Christian] Eriksen. He had only recently arrived on the field. We’ll wait to see how he recovers before making a choice tomorrow.’
Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Donny van de Beek will also return to training this week, according to Ten Hag.
