7 Deals Completed, 3 Remaining – Manchester United’s best players complete move to Ligue 1 giant

Eric Bailly, a Manchester United defender, has joined Ligue 1 side Marseille on a season-long loan.

According to the Telegraph, the deal is a loan for the rest of the season, but the French club has a £5 million option to buy the Ivory Coast defender if they qualify for the Champions League and the player makes a set number of appearances.

Marseille publicized the deal in grand style, ripping off Marvel’s opener and portraying their new center-back as a superhero.

If Marseille exercises their buy option in a year’s time, Bailly will leave Manchester United after six years with the club.

The defender joined Manchester United from Villarreal in 2016, although his stint at the club was marred by injury.

The Ivory Coast international made 133 appearances for United and scored just one goal. Bailly won the EFL Cup, Europa League, and Community Shield during his time at Old Trafford, with his stint under Jose Mourinho being his most memorable.
