Ten Hag drops five reasons why two Manchester United notable stars were omitted in 25-men Europa League Squad

Manchester United name their Europa League squad with two notable omissions

Manchester United has named their Europa League roster, but two experienced players have been left out.

Manchester United kick up their Europa League campaign on Thursday, hosting Real Sociedad in the first game of the group stage at Old Trafford.

Despite being extensively linked with a move away from the club, Cristiano Ronaldo has been named in their squad, according to 90min, even though the transfer window has closed (according to Ajansspor).

New signees Antony and Casemiro have been nominated to the team, with emerging stars Facundo Pellistri and Alejandro Garnacho was given opportunities to shine.

There were two noticeable omissions, however: Brandon Williams and Phil Jones were not picked to the squad.

With the Manchester United duo battling to reach the Premier League team, it’s difficult to see them seeing any game time this season.

During cup games, where Erik ten Hag is anticipated to heavily rotate his group, Williams and Jones are unlikely to be asked to participate, hence a move away from the club would be wise for both players.
