Manchester United is preparing to compete with West Ham for the signing of a Serie A winger, Everton are looking for a surprise player to boost Frank Lampard’s attack, and a Liverpool target has rejected a contract offer from his current club, according to Friday’s Euro Paper Talk.
THE LATEST SIDE-IN FOR NAPOLI MAN IS MAN UTD.
West Ham is not the only Premier League club interested in Napoli striker Hirving Lozano, with Manchester United also apparently interested.
When PSV sold Lozano to Napoli in August 2019, they made a tidy profit. They bought him for £11.3 million and sold him to the Italian outfit for £40.5 million.
Lozano, who can play as a winger on either flank or as a second striker in the middle, has 26 goals and 14 assists in 115 games for Napoli.
He believes he can improve on this record despite being forced to play out of position so Lorenzo Insigne could play on a regular basis.
According to rumors from July, West Ham held ‘serious conversations’ with Napoli about signing Lozano, who has 56 Mexico caps.
However, David Moyes will face competition in the transfer market from his previous club Manchester United.
Because, according to Gianluca Di Marzio (via Football Italia), the Red Devils have begun to pursue Lozano and will now compete with West Ham for his services.
The 27-year-old attacker’s contract at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium expires in two years.
Napoli is unlikely to extend his contract. And they are gradually coming to terms with the possibility that he may leave this summer or next.
Lozano’s current contract includes a significant release clause. It is worth €130 million, or approximately £110 million.
However, Napoli understands that they cannot ask for anything close to this sum. As a result, Lozano may join either Manchester United or West Ham for much less.
Erik ten Hag is eager for his club to sign a new wide player. As a result, they spent most of the summer attempting to sign Antony from Ajax.
However, the reigning Eredivisie winners are demanding a large fee, estimated to be in the region of £70 million.
Man United appears to be spinning around in circles on whether or not to match this valuation. Cody Gakpo is seen as a less expensive option, while Lozano may be less expensive.
Ten Hag’s new target is Lozano if Antony and Gakpo deals go through. And it wouldn’t be surprising if this happened following what happened with Frenkie de Jong and Adrien Rabiot.
