Casemiro hints at favoured Man Utd midfield partner with “special relationship” message
Casemiro has joined Manchester United in a £60 million transfer from Real Madrid and is anticipated to be a crucial member of Ten Hag's starting lineup immediately.
Casemiro has intimated to new Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag that his ideal midfield partner could be the much-maligned Fred.
The Brazilian joins United from Real Madrid for a fee of £60 million and arrives as one of the world’s best defensive midfielders. After watching the win against Liverpool from the stands at Old Trafford, he is likely to slot straight into their starting lineup against Southampton on Saturday.
Ten Hag has used a variety of midfield alternatives in an effort to discover his ideal set-up. Scott McTominay, Christian Eriksen, Bruno Fernandes, and Fred have all played multiple positions.
And Casemiro has now hinted that he believes Fred, his Brazilian international teammate, will be the perfect man to pair him with. United’s newest signing praised his countryman, calling him a “fantastic player.”
“Well, before I came here, I chatted with Fred.” He’s a guy with whom I’ve played in the national team for a number of games and years. I’m familiar with him. “He’s a fantastic player,” Casemiro said on United’s official website.
“That is why he plays for Manchester United and the Brazilian national team, both of which are difficult to get into.” So I have a special bond with him, and he’s a fantastic player, which is why he plays for Manchester United.
“Fred possesses numerous qualities. I believe he is a player with good movement. He’s incredibly mobile, passes the ball effectively, has a good shot, and can play with both feet, left or right, and pass the ball well with either. He’s a fantastic player.
“Again, that’s why he plays for Brazil, and he’s a very important player for this club, and I believe he’ll be of great assistance to me since he’s Brazilian.” I believe he will be of great assistance to me at the club, and it is crucial for me to have another Brazilian here as well.”
Casemiro also discussed his playing style, and it appears that he is the ideal candidate to assist Ten Hag in changing the culture at Old Trafford. The 30-year-old stated unequivocally that he wants his teammates to give their all in both training and competitive matches.
“I’m a player who enjoys putting in the effort.” A player that gives everything on the field, not just for 90 minutes, but also in training, which is the most important thing to me. “You train while playing,” he added.
“I think everyone wants to win matches, win in training, learn in training, but I’m one of those guys that want to go home and know that I’ve done my job, so that’s my mindset, my mentality, and now it’s all about giving everything for Manchester United,” he says.
